The Glenlivet was one of the first to use French oak for making whiskey, a technique that has since been imitated the world over. The Limousin oak used is cut in France's Dordogne region of France, which has often used to mature cognacs. Its low density allows the whiskey to sink deep into the wood. The Glenlivet 15 Year Old French Oak Reserve Whiskey has an intense golden color and aromas of butter, caramel, and whipped cream.
